Before Reagan we had a perfectly good system. It just requires checks and balances like we used to have. In the old days people could make a decent living without being cheated. As government was deregulated greed took over and the only beneficiary were the top 1%. There are some things government does well as long as the checks and balances are there. I think we have to get money out of politics and demand we go back to a system that rewards what people do-work-not just make money gambling. We no longer have capitolism we have corporatism although we are slowly making it back to what we used to have. We have allowed ourselves to be distracted by wars, sports, etc and have not been paying attention to what has been going on. I have done a lot of research and there are tons of fraud being prosecuted as well as tax evasion so I think we are on the way back it will just take a little time. The system took 30 years to break and it could take a few years to fix. The good news is 85% of the manufacturers are planning to bring back at least some of their manufacturing and phone centers are also coming back. We have gained 300K manufacturing jobs which is the first time to gain those kind of jobs in 10 years and not at this scale. If we can elect the right people we can get the economy going with infra-structure.

  • I found your comment at protestforareason discussion on Nov 19th to be Right On!!! I would ask you how old you are but either way old or young your words brought make memories of a time before now; when people out there were truly looking to see the changes you speak about actually happening because they believed that common sense - scientific facts would bring about true change by our political leaders. Without any action by the people being necessary for it to occur. They we] actually believed in the process of democracy not understanding then like anyone can see now that all any politicians are just hired employees of the 1%.
And common sense has nothing to do with anything all that matters is the $$$ and the promise of a good job after they are out of politics.

The Bigger the Rat the Bigger the book deal you know what I mean.

  • just throwing ideas out there

A flat tax (short for flat rate tax) is a tax system with a constant marginal tax rate. Typically the term flat tax is applied in the context of an individual or corporate income that will be taxed at one marginal rate. Flat taxes in application often allow certain deductions and thus are a special case of a proportional tax.

These is just a quick outline to how a Flat Tax could be set up until the Federal Governments Budget is
OUT of dept. (This is just the start of what needs to be organized to make something workable that is fair and will get our government operating with a balance budget.) Afterwards the % rates could be lower to match the Governments new Budget which should be regulated
to where any business transactions with private business or foreign governments would be audit and penalties be put into place for any misappropriations and/or misusage of said funds.

This is just a quick outline to work off

  • I believe a number of changes that are necessary could be
developed here and then put into law by having enough people
agreeing to them and then signing petitions to have them made
into law so our political leaders would have No Choice but
    to do so.
